Taormina City Center Hotels
When travelling to Taormina, many people don’t know that there is a choice in hotels. There are two main types of hotels in Taormina: those in the city centre, and those in Central.
Central hotels are located further away from the city centre, and offer wonderful views of Mount Etna and the Mediterranean Sea. They are slightly more expensive than the city centre hotels, but offer a much more peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.
The Central hotel district is located about 4 kilometres from the city centre and beach. The area is characterised by wonderful villas and gardens which overlook Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea. Central hotels are a little more expensive than those in the city centre, but offer a much more peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.
During my stay in Taormina, I had the pleasure of staying in a Central hotel, the Hotel Villa San Giovanni. I was blown away by the views – they were absolutely stunning. The hotel was also very peaceful and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying in a Central hotel if you are planning a trip to Taormina.
